<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>At the current level of scientific knowledge about the organization of biological systems, the role of microorganisms in their functioning seems quite evident. However, the significance of microorganisms and the role of disturbances in microecology in the development of somatic pathologies remains a subject of debate and discussion. This review article is dedicated to explaining the author’s position regarding the current prospects for using microorganisms as a means of correcting dysbiotic conditions. It discusses both the use of foreign microorganisms in the form of probiotics or fecal transplants, and the prospect of using one’s own, indigenous bacteria to restore the individual microbial ecology of humans and animals.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>микробиота</kwd><kwd>микробиом</kwd><kwd>трансплантация фекальной микробиоты</kwd><kwd>аутопробиотики</kwd><kwd>дисбиоз</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>microbiota</kwd><kwd>microbiome</kwd><kwd>fecal microbiota transplantation</kwd><kwd>autologous microbial transplantation</kwd><kwd>autoprobiotics</kwd><kwd>dysbiosis</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Peixoto R.S., Sweet M., Villela H.D.M., Cardoso P., Thomas T., Voolstra C.R., Høj L., Bourne D.G.
