Ожирение является основным компонентом метаболического синдрома, отягощает течение многих заболеваний, в том числе эндокринных. Может являться как причиной, так и следствием патологических процессов. В статье представлены данные о влиянии ожирения на функцию щитовидной железы. Показана взаимосвязь жировой ткани и гормонов щитовидной железы. Обсуждается связь ожирения с гипотиреозом - явным и субклиническим, аутоиммунным тиреоидитом. Рассматриваются вопросы взаимосвязи компонентов метаболического синдрома и тиреоидной функции. Показано, что снижение веса приводило к улучшению функции щитовидной железы.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Obesity is a pressing medical and social problem for all countries, including the Russian Federation. Obesity is the main component of metabolic syndrome and aggravates the course of many diseases, including endocrine ones. The article presents data on the effect of obesity on thyroid function. The relationship between adipose tissue and thyroid hormones is shown. The connection between obesity and hypothyroidism - overt and subclinical, autoimmune thyroiditis - is discussed. The issues of the relationship between the components of metabolic syndrome and thyroid function are considered.
