Сердечно-сосудистые и метаболические заболевания, как наиболее распространенные причины смертности во всем мире, в свою очередь рассматриваются как одни из наиболее социально-значимых заболеваний. Общими факторами, способствующими развитию заболеваний тканей пародонта и сердечно-сосудистой, а также метаболической патологии являются старение, курение, злоупотребление алкоголем, расовая/этническая принадлежность, уровень образования и социально-экономический статус, мужской пол, сахарный диабет и избыточный вес или ожирение, а также воспаление. Воспаление представляет собой хорошо организованный защитный ответ на патогены и заключается в вовлечении рекрутированных иммунных клеток в очаги инфекции. Воспалительный процесс либо элиминирует возбудителей и рассасывается, приводя к заживлению тканей, либо остается преимущественно неразрешенным, вызывая патологические процессы в органах. Однако неспособность отключить воспалительный каскад после устранения патогенного стимула приводит к хроническому воспалению (т. е. к неконтролируемой воспалительной реакции, которая может привести к повреждению ткани хозяина) и является отличительной чертой некоторых патологий, связанных с воспалительными расстройствами. В частности, при заболеваниях тканей пародонта воспалительная реакция становится хронической, когда патогенные бактерии продолжают размножаться и не могут контролироваться острым иммунным ответом, что приводит к неразрешенному воспалению, разрушением пародонта или поддерживающих тканей зубов (десневой ткани, периодонтальной связки и альвеолярной кости). В обзорной статье представлены данные научных исследований, посвященных изучению системного воспалительного компонента при взаимнонаправленном развитии заболеваний тканей пародонта, сердечно-сосудистой системы, а также метаболической патологии.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Periodontal tissue diseases are among the most common diseases of the oral cavity and, along with dental caries, constitute the main cause of tooth loss. Cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, as the most common causes of mortality throughout the world, are, in turn, considered one of the most socially significant diseases. Common factors that contribute to the development of periodontal disease and cardiovascular and metabolic disease include aging, smoking, alcohol abuse, race/ethnicity, educational level and socioeconomic status, male gender, diabetes mellitus and overweight or obesity, and inflammation. Inflammation is a well-organized protective response to pathogens and involves the recruitment of recruited immune cells to sites of infection. Either the inflammatory process eliminates pathogens and resolves, leading to tissue healing, or remains predominantly unresolved, causing pathological processes in organs. However, failure to shut down the inflammatory cascade after removal of the pathogenic stimulus results in chronic inflammation (i. e., an uncontrolled inflammatory response that can lead to host tissue damage) and is a hallmark of several pathologies associated with inflammatory disorders. Particularly in periodontal disease, the inflammatory response becomes chronic when pathogenic bacteria continue to multiply and cannot be controlled by the acute immune response, resulting in unresolved inflammation, destruction of the periodontium or the supporting tissues of the teeth (gingival tissue, periodontal ligament and alveolar bone).
