Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is the most common rheumatic disease in children [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="cit1">1</xref>]. The etiology of the disease is currently unknown, but there are many works on the role of the intestinal microbiota in JIA and its interaction with antirheumatic drugs (methotrexate). There are a number of data on the effect of methotrexate on the intestinal microbiota. The article provides a review of the literature on the involvement of the intestinal microbiota in the induction of autoinflammation and the possible antagonism between the intestinal microbiota and methotrexate.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>дети</kwd><kwd>микробиота</kwd><kwd>ювенильный идиопатический артрит</kwd><kwd>метотрексат</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>children</kwd><kwd>microbiota</kwd><kwd>juvenile idiopathic arthritis</kwd><kwd>methotrexate</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Petty R.
